Rules for Competitors

Board Control

Racers were required to control their board at all times and ride safely, including starting, stopping, and dismounting.

Equipment Restrictions

No "off-board" controllers or devices were permitted in EOL sanctioned races.

Overtaking Protocol

During time trials, riders could overtake by announcing "On your left" or "On your right". The front rider had to yield to the called path. No overtaking requests during bracket stage.

Safety Equipment

All racers were required to wear a properly secured helmet. Wrist/hand protection had to be worn at all times whilst racing.

Race Completion

Racers had to be on their board when crossing the finish line.

Administrative Requirements

All participants had to sign required waivers and adhere to the EOL Code of Conduct. Participants were chiefly responsible for their own well-being and safety.

  • Display high standards of behaviour that promote a positive image for our sport
  • Strive to maintain a sense of self-control and dignity at all times
  • Encourage others to participate and learn
  • Take responsibility for your own ability and make educated choices
  • Obtain proper training and improve skills as needed
  • Compete fairly and with respect for fellow athletes, officials, venues and equipment
  • Be gracious in victory and defeat
  • Cooperate with medical professionals and respect their assessment
  • Refrain from violence, offensive language and insults, harassment, and public criticism
  • Defuse situations when appropriate or notify organizers for peaceful resolution

Enforcement: Non-compliance resulted in disqualification, suspension or ban from EOL events.
